The Mary Louise Skelton Fund was established at the Healing Yoga Foundation in honor and loving memory of Mary Louise Skelton (1926-1995) to help support our outreach programs to the underserved and to provide financial aid and scholarship assistance to anyone wishing to receive the benefits of Yoga, regardless of financial means. Mary Lou was a long-time student of Yoga with Sri T. Krishnamacharya and TKV Desikachar and first introduced Kate Holcombe and Chase Bossart to Yoga and to Mr. Desikachar in 1991. She was a great teacher, mentor and role model to many students across the country and a true example of Yoga in all of her actions. Her brave battle with cancer was the personal inspiration and impetus behind the founding of Healing Yoga Foundation and her example and spirit continues to inspire the healing work we do everyday.
